Vietnam, a rapidly growing economy in Southeast Asia, continues to see a surge in consumer demand for high-quality print and packaging, with market research organisations forecasting that the Vietnamese print and packaging industry will grow at an annual rate of 13.4%, more than double the global average. This trend is largely due to the increasing number of middle-class Vietnamese who are more willing to pay for high-quality, beautiful print and packaging, Vietnam's printing and packaging market demand will continue to grow. Rapid development of manufacturing industry drives packaging and printing industry
According to customs data, Vietnam's imports of printing and packaging machinery from China have grown by 20 per cent over the past three years, a figure that is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. In addition, Vietnam's manufacturing sector is experiencing rapid growth. With technological advances and industrial upgrades, Vietnam's demand for high-performance and high-efficiency printing and packaging machinery is also increasing.
--- Printing and packaging is one of the fastest growing industries in Vietnam

Silk Road Foreign Trade Hot Spot | The global economy will continue to face low growth and high inflation, and the OECD expects global GDP growth to slow to 2.7 per cent next year!
On 29 November local time, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released its economic outlook report, which shows that global economic growth is slowing as the effects of tighter monetary policy, weaker trade, and declining business and consumer confidence are becoming apparent. Global GDP growth is expected to be 2.9 per cent in 2023, down from the last estimate of 3.0 per cent. 2024 will see a slowdown to 2.7 per cent, making it the lowest natural year of global economic growth since 2020. 2025 will see a slight improvement to 3.0 per cent. OECD Secretary-General Mathias Coleman said the global economy will continue to face the twin challenges of low growth and high inflation. Inflation has fallen back from last year's peak and is expected to return to the levels targeted by their central banks in most economies in 2025. In the longer term, government debt will increase significantly, and governments will need to make significant efforts to rebuild fiscal space and promote growth. Although the outlook is bleaker, the OECD expects that "almost all countries will be able to avoid falling into recession".
An important factor contributing to the slowdown in global growth is that growth in the US will slow. Due to the Federal Reserve's sharp interest rate hikes and high borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, U.S. economic growth is expected to slow from 2.4% in 2023 to 1.5% in 2024, and inflation will fall from 3.9% in 2023 to 2.8% in 2024 and 2.2% in 2025, only slightly above the 2% target set by the Federal Reserve.
Interest rate hikes and soaring energy prices due to the war in Ukraine will also hit eurozone countries, which will affect global growth. The OECD expects the eurozone economy to grow at a tepid 0.9 per cent in 2024, which is still higher than the projected 0.6 per cent growth rate for 2023.

In volume terms, exports were up 3% and imports were up 1.2%. Statistics Canada noted that Canada's export growth outpaced import growth, driven by the transfer of gold to the U.S. and higher crude oil prices. Exports recorded the largest increase since October 2021, driven by precious metals and energy products. Japan: exports up 4.3% year-on-year in September
The latest data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance showed that in September, Japan's exports amounted to 9.20 trillion yen, an increase of 4.3% year-on-year, after 2 months of growth again; imports amounted to 9.14 trillion yen, a decline of 16.3%, the sixth consecutive month of decline.
